monthly roundup:

Hiya again, ya hussies! Hope you've all been having a beautiful start to spring as we can literally feel the melting season of summer coming...like SOON, especially in Austin. I’m so ready to be tan & lounging by a pool already. MONTHLY UPDATES, COMING RIGHT UP.

WHAT I'M WATCHING:

It's SUCH a good season for new shows. If you know you know, Bridgerton Pt.1 is HERE. Forever obsessed with a period piece, and I even got KC into watching it too. Of course, it's already juice af, and left us on the edge for part 2. Penelope is POPPING OFF this season, it's a must watch. We're also starting Bodkin and just finished Reacher. I'm taking a short break from reading, only because I'm in between books, and haven't started anything for the summer yet. My reading wishlist is HUGE, so I'll be back next month with some goodies for ya. I'm always adding to my book reccs, which can be found here!

WHAT I'M EATING:

Still on my meat train. Can't stop, won't stop with the protein. Paleovalley has the best 100% grass-fed meat sticks in TONS of good flavors to mix it up. I told y’all in my instagram stories I’d share the protein egg bites I can’t stop making either, here's that recipe I use twice a week because we eat these so fast: 5 whole eggs, 8 egg whites, 3/4 c cottage cheese, 3/4 c cheddar cheese, salt and pepper - blend in the blender until smooth, pour into a cupcake tin and bake at 350F for 20min. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days, and easily microwave for 45sec to have a high-protein breakfast quickly in the mornings. You can throw in any kind of extra ingredient here like bacon, spinach, tomatoes, etc. - we keep them simple in our house, but these are so versatile.

WHAT I'M WEARING:

Ya'll know I wear black most of the time. Now that summer is approaching I sometimes look for ways to soften up the black look JUST A BIT. One way I love to do that is with mesh. I've got a few of these long sleeve mesh tops that I go to on a hot night with a cute bra underneath. I think it's really chic, and gives just a peek at showing some skin, but teeechnicallyyyyyy you're covered. Lol. There's this short sleeve mesh top I've got my eye on right now that's a good intro into the vibe without going full see-through. Mesh in cream or white is also adorable if you're into lighter colors. Follow me on LTK to watch for updates on outfits, makeup, shoes, and everything I'm buying for my closet and vanity.

WHAT I'M OBSESSED WITH:

If you're without a pool where you live, whether you're in an apartment or a house with a yard, I highly recommend getting a little pool for yourself and/or your pets. It's a great way to beat the heat and have a little BBQ backyard party with friends. When we lived in NC, I used to have a huuuuge blow up pool and we called it the redneck yacht club. It's good ol' cheap fun. This one is a foldable one so you don't even need an air pump or a lot of space to store it - major plus! Here’s a link to my Amazon Storefront if you're into stalking.

WHAT SKINCARE I'M LOVING:

This is actually something for your LIPS! Doctor Dennis Gross has this plumping, hydrating lip treatment made with hyaluronic acid that I can't stop using. It's clear, so I wear it all the time - to the gym or to dinner. To dress it up a little, I do some nude colored lip liner, buff it in with my finger to make it look super natural, then put this lip treatment over it. You guys, it's an instant plump and pouty look, see above lol. Obvi it's beautiful on the lip, but also good for the lips too. Win-win!

WHAT WELLNESS TREND I'M INTO:

As to not bore you with yet another schpeel on my workouts, I will tell you I'm obsessed with a red light shower session and a good non-alcoholic beer to wind down on days I'm super sore and wiped out. Yes, a shower beer is my wellness trend HAHA. This scratches my itch for a good beer without getting all the negative effects of alcohol, which does not help with sleep, metabolism, sore muscles or retaining/building/aiding in muscle development. The red light allows for maximum relaxation and cell regeneration which is great for your skin and general health, especially before you go to bed.
